HELP!!! on photo upload
I uploaded a number of photos and when I went to cut and paste I can't find them. There in photo limbo somewhere on the site ---- I just don't know where. What am I doing wrong.

Monk, AS you upload you cut and paste the file name. So, if like most people, you have named the photo, such as tinkerluger04, the next tinkerluger05 etc., then you can actually upload, then paste into the blocks.
Now, catch this, :D , if you want it as a URL, then you just drop the URL to this quickreply block. If you want the picture to show up, then you place the letters IMG inside of brackets, i.e. {{no spaces between the inside brackets}} the img tells the computer there is a image, the /image tells the computer the image is over. ed |
Ed, I think where I screwed up is that I uploaded all the photos then went back to cut and paste. I can't find the photos i uploaded and when I go to upload a new one it tells me the image already exists and I can't override the image. Is there a way to retrieve the uploaded photos or d I need to re upload using a different file name?
Remember you're dealing with a borderline computer illiterate here. |
if you know the image names, then you just place these words in the post area.
http: //boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/YOUR PICTURE NAME.jpg {{no spaces}} AND to make the picture show up, then you put Ed |
Thanks Ed, I'll give it a shot. But don't be to surprised if you hear from me again on this.

Monk69,
You have successfully uploaded your photo... but your syntax was wrong for displaying it... Now that I have corrected your UBB code syntax (which is sort of like HTML tags) your photo is displayed above. Use the pencil&paper icon immediately above your post where the photo is displayed to see what the correct syntax looks like to display a photo using the URL for where the photo is located... It is very simple...and once you see it, you should have no further problems... if you do, Ed or I will be glad to answer your questions. :) <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" /> |
Whoa, what happened???? It sure didn't look that way when I sent the reply. Well anyway, I forwarded the link to the web page and it appears to have been placed on my last topic reply. I'll play with it over the weekend to see if I can recreate the right way to post a picture.
Thanks for your help. PS - I sent this before I received your latest reply which made all things clear to me.Thanks for the patience. |
thanks for sharing photos of a very nice Luger with the forum...

John, Ed, thanks for all the technical help. This ol' war horse may have learned a new trick. I'm going to try and move some additional pictures this week. Keep your fingers crossed. I've been led to the water now I just need to take a drink.

Once you learn how, you'll be going 90 to nothing in posting pics! One tricky thing, is that it is easy to have either the picture with too much resolution or simply toooo big, and it can be tricky to new and old users to make them smaller, although your pics have been a good size!
