HL "Electronic" Luger Books

I've been on the forum a couple of months and have yet to see any mention of HL's so called e-books. Maybe the subject was dead and buried before I came along. For those who haven't encounter them, they are a series of downloadable "computer books" dealing with individual pistols that are put out by a Belgium publisher. Currently there are two books out on Lugers. The first deals with the mechanics of the Luger and there is now a second on the history of the DMW Luger. ( I would wager there 'll be a third on the Nazi era.) I downloaded the first one and found it very useful as a new Luger owner - especially the illustrations. You pay $6 for a password to open the the book. However, since you can't print out a copy, I was forced to field strip my Luger in front of the computer a couple of times. Has anyone downloaded the DMW book? If so, what is your opinion.

For those who would like to visit the site. Go to www.user.skynet.be/HL-editions/ebooks There is one free book you can download to test out the concept. But as you might figure, its not on Lugers.

Re: HL "Electronic" Luger Books

From time to time someone does mention these fine publications, but I must admit it's been a while now. They are however, listed in our Links & Resources. I have looked at the write-up on the new book, and was very interested to note that in the table of contents, I see a chapter on Hugo Borchardt. Of course the burning question in my mind is... Is there a photograph of dear old Hugo? I would love to have a photo for our Hugo Borchardt page. If you ultimately wind up purchasing the second book, and you find there is a photo in there of Hugo, would you please let me know?

Thanks

Dok

I haven't read all of it, but so far it is quite interesting and worth the money. Sorry, DOK, a pic of GEORG but none of B.

I downloaded the DWM book and have been able to print it OK except every once in a while the last page of a chapter will be messed up; don't know if that is on purpose or not.

Some nice illustrations; not sure if it has the definitive word or not; but for $6 it is pretty neat.

You're doing Better than me

Dave, if you 're getting it to print, you doing a lot better than me. I can't get anything to print out of Luger book #1. I assumed there was some sort of copyright protection to prevent printing and hard copy distribution.
