Lugers - What if Kerry wins

I was wondering if anyone had information on how Kerry might be on firearms collectors such as ourselves. I was looking for an old post where someone had written that if he's elected it could turn our collections into scrap. I live in Ohio and am pleased to say I saw earlier today where Ohio is leaning for President Bush.

He hasn't said anything specific like that, that I can contribute directly to him.

He surprisingly said that he was pro hunting and he stated that "categorically" he would not touch the 2nd Amendment while in office".

That can be taken as a campaign promise, so...

I really don't see John Kerry as anti gun as the NRA makes him out to be. Granted, he's not as pro gun as Bush and he would renew the "assault gun" ban but I don't believe he wants to totally abolish guns. Now if somebody such as Hillary Clinton ever gets into the White House we are in trouble.

John Kerry is, always has been and will continue to be a political prostitute of the highest order. His charge for services are votes. Pay the most votes, recieve the requested service on demand. Don't think for a damn minute that there are any safe or sacred objects (Lugers) if there is a compensation for him involved. To the antis the only difference between a Luger and a Glock is, well there isn't one. Both are high capacity, automatic, concealable, military developed, man killer military round, no good for hunting, and good only for murdering innocent bystanders. He is like a hooker on a well known street corner. Drive up, flash the cash, he'll go for the ride. He is like a window pane. No soul, no depth, no substance, easily shattered, and reflects whatever light is projected on him.

I'm Randall Grady and I approve this message.

<img border="0" alt="[soapbox]" title="" src="graemlins/soapbox.gif" /> Greg, don't be so naive to think that all Kerry wanted to do is the re-instate the Clinton Assault Rifle Ban... it was a bad piece of legislation and he is too ignorant to take the time to know that it had absolutely no effect on crime or gun sales... it only inconvenienced gun owners from having the "cosmetic" evil features on the semi-auto rifles they bought until the ban was lifted. When do you think was the last time Kerry went hunting when it wasn't a photo opportunity in a "battleground" state?

Making the AWB permanent wasn't supported in Congress because most politicians figured out it was bad legislation and it was an election year. Given the chance, the liberals will not only re-instate the ban, they will tighten it to include things that also have no effect on crime... For all we know, the next ban will be on ex-military weapons like LUGERS... after all, they hold no inherent sporting use... Don't swallow their agenda if you want your heirs to have the same privileges that you enjoy now...

They will remove our "rights" one bite at a time...because they could never be successful in grabbing them all at once. Just look at the history in Australia, and England... the "slippery slope" is not a theory... it is a proven concept...

The second amendment is the ONLY amendment that guarantees that the other amendments will exist for our posterity... IF they manage to dismantle that one, there are NO guarantees...

Thank you,I'm really glad to see all the replies. I just took a little time off to pick up the wife and go vote for someone I know cares about gun owners.

The AWB was a joke but they sure tried to turn it against President Bush like it was the worst possible thing he could have done.

I remember when Clinton got elected I stocked up on ammo and reloading supplies in case he tried to ban ammunition and I might just stock up again if the worst happens.

I had a good laugh the way Roadkill ended his message and John did a great job on the soapbox!

Thanks, Brent B

Kerry stance on guns bothers me, but what's it going to say to the world when we pull out of Iraq. I guess we're back to the Vietnam syndrome. This will increase terrosim because the terrorist know we won't stand up for anything. Today maybe a changing point in America and I'm not sure it's for the better.

Just one more thing. Why does the media report early exit polls? Wait until all of votes have been counted.

Of course this is just my opinion.

If you will just take the time to look up his voteing record in the senate you will find there has never been a anti-gun bill that he didn't support. I remember this joker from the 60's. I wouldn't walk across the street to p*** on him if he was on fire!

I totally agree re the AWB legislation and as for politicians....I don't trust any of them. Not even George Bush, not John Kerry, and certainly not Ralph Nader who only runs so that he can get publicity for his personal agendas. But right now there are a lot of serious issues facing Americans and 2nd amendment rights, while important to me as a long time NRA member are not the only things we need to concern ourselves with. But this being a gun forum I'll get off the soap box and shut up.
:)
