just curious -- mag matching
I am just curious. I've read and seen many people looking for the original matching magazines for their pistols. Has anyone ever actually found one? I believe the odds would be unusually high against it (unless you are dealing with a certain person in Texas who seems to have all the matching parts the ever fell off of a Luger).

no, really? has anyone?

I had a luger I purchased in 1970, 25 years later I found a matching magazine in PA from Don Hallock's luger magazine list. The magazine was in exactly the same condition as the pistol. It is possible and it does happen. So many of the magazines got separated from the pistols in this country after the war. You just have to keep looking!

I have asked this question also to a couple of collectors. I heard heard of this happening at least twice that I know of? Rare, but anything can happen.
I find it highly unlikely that this will ever happen, but I sure as hell won't quit looking... Ed |
Since the only truly matching mag is one of the two that came with it originally (right type tube & bottom, correct font serialization including the suffix letter and proofing) your chances are about 1 in a million. Actually better than most lotteries, but for lugers, Don Hallock's list is your best bet.TH
