p-38 skull and crossbones
 

being a novice,i don't have references about the skull and crossbones stamped over the third mark (proof mark) on a 42byf (mauser) p38 can you help me by telling me any documented details ? i thought you luger guys might know.

ghanna, you might try getting the info on the P38 forum, http://www.p38forum.com/. My initial reaction is that it is a fake stamping.
