Blooing that Looger

Hi Guys
Just picked up a book from Amazon that might be of interest to people here.

It's a small hardcover "Firearm Blueing & Browning" by RH Angier. 160 pages of mostly blueing and browing recipes and techniques. First published in 1936.
A really great read if you're into this kind of thing that goes into some basic chemistry and has loads of bluing/browning recipes many of which have been tested by the author who gives his comments on each.
Also includes some proprietry recipes used by the big arms manufacturers of the day and some recipes for parkerizing and phosphating as well.

Written in the old style it is kind of a dry read I suppose but is a gold mine of information nevertheless.

For the very reasonable price of $19.95 it's well worth having in your collection.

Cheers

Ken, the book is priceless if you want to get into rust blueing. I have it and have used it for many years. What Angier says he has tried works as he describes.

I, too, have that book and add my "me,too" to the value of the book.

Does it have an ISBN #? I would like to buy one. Don

By far the easiest way to obtain this book is to go to Amazon.com and do a search on the books title, hand over some gold, and it will be in your letterbox within the week.
