A century anniversary P-08?

The century mark is coming up fast for the P-08, any plans for a 100 year collectors edition?

I doubt if anyone would invest the capital to actually make the Luger again. Maybe one of the "commemorative" outfits will gussy up some old guns, put on some hack engraving, and call them an aniversary special.

Actually, 1908 was the year the German Army adopted the Luger, not the year it was introduced, so the earlier date had passed.

Aimco did make a crude reproduction of the M1900 in 2000 for the 100th anniversary of the luger. Unfortunately, sales were not good and I believe that they still have some of these 7.65x120mm models still in stock for anyone who is interested. TH

Hi,

There are also some '100-year' engraved mauser parabellums on the market in Germany.

If you look in the Member Gallery on page 7 there is a series of photos showing my 4.75" stainless .30cal alongside of an original 1900. Look in "The Stainless Steel Lugers: a Photo Study." I ordered the gun as shown so that it would resemble a 1900. You can be the judge of whether it was worth it.

My other stainless is stamped with 2000 for the manufacture year on the chamber so I guess it would qualify as a 100 year Luger. Both guns are shown in the gallery.
