Ed, Thanks for the kind words, to all else too! These are made totally by hand using the finest linen thread just as the Germans did at the turn of the century. I believe the Germans used machines for most of their work but there are tieoffs and such where it must have been done by hand as no machine I know of could do it. I do not have a leather stitching machine as they cost $1500.00 and up. I would rarely use one anyway as most of the work is do is repair work and one cannot use a machine on 80 year old holsters. These are hand stitched like a pair of Gucci shoes. Jerry Burney

My mother has a leather stitching machine. She is infirm and I cannot think of a diplomatic manner in which to broach the subject of possessing it. If I should ever possess this machine, I shall contact you and make sure that you have a leather sewing machine.

Wes, That is very kind of you to say and I thank you for the thought. I am sorry to hear of your Mothers condition. My Mother is infirm as well and I shudder at the thought of her passing. God willing it will be many more years of happiness in the loving presence of loved ones for both of our Mothers. They are the authors of our days after all... Just out of curiosity, what would the value of original magazine pouches be?

Going through some of the leather goods I inherited from my father and found 2 of them in average/above average condition. (Also 2 unissued mint MP38 magazine pouches as well if anyone has an inkling).

And just how did you get that pouch to looks so nice?? I have friends who have done leather work and nothing comes close to the quality in those pics. Any good books out there or just trial and error (and inherent skill)?

Could you post photos of your mag pouches?

George, The value of original pouches depends on condition and markings. If the condition is good and it has date and maker markings they could bring $100.00 to $200.00 depending. If you can give me more details and maybe some photo's I will give you my opinion based on what you say.

As far as how I get these to look good, I hand make them from scratch. Hand sewn like a fine pair of Gucci shoes. I sometimes end up with some that don't look quite this good too!
