Does member 500 get a free Luger? If so I'll sign up Mr. Maximillian Borchardt (The dog.) and maybe my wife and daughters.

No Unspellable, that new member will get the undisputed privilege of belonging to this forum and having the member number of 500 which will never change. Member numbers are not reused...

500 registered members is a milestone in our history as a forum. I suspsect that many of our registered members were just lurkers on the old forum where if I remember correctly, we capped out at 142 registered users (but that was when registration was optional and anonymous postings were permitted). Now that registration is required to eliminate anonymous posting, our numbers have grown exponentially.

We are averaging 174 new messages a day and that is pretty consistent. and we have registered well over half a million hits in the few months since we opened the door to the new forum. That is WAY more that the 200,000 hits we achieved after 2 years in the old format.

I don't see the membership growth slowing down much in the near future... I think we will continue to grow as the word spreads what a great site this is.

Number 500 has just been assigned by the registration routine to my younger brother! Welcome aboard Ed, nice of you to drop in. And I suggest that you read the rules since I hear the administrator here is pretty strict [img]biggrin.gif[/img]
