An inappropriate question??

Gentlemen

I am a little reticent to direct this question at this forum. However it has become quite clear to me that a number of you have firearms expertise outside of the Luger arena. So then, having said all of this; I have a brother who collects 1911's whose birthday is fast approaching.I would like to pick up a decent World War II piece for him. Can anyone suggest a good site on which to shop for this item?

Thanks for the help!

Apologies to the purists.

Forgot to mention gunbroker.com and

Here is an expensive suggestion from checkpointcharlie's site:

56.COLT ACE CONV.KIT ON AFTERMARKET FRAME,30YRS.OLD IN ORIG.COLT BOX $625.00

A little on the expensive side, but a great gift for a M1911 fancier!

Try The Sight 1911

Another good .45 site is The Sight 1911 at www.sightm-1911.com. Great historical site and good links to 1911 specialists and gun smiths. Then there is the Internet Shooting Directory. That is the gateway to all things gun on the net. You can link to every major manufacturer and gun dealer in the country. It can be found by going to www.pla-net.net

Roger, perhaps you would be so kind...

as to be a little more specific regarding the Internet Shooting Directory. I went to www.pla-net.net and finally gave up trying to find the referenced directory.

Re: An inappropriate question??

Place a want ad on Tuco's Trader at www.mosin-nagant.net. Large volume trader for all types of milsurps.

Lets Try Again

I didn't realize that it was buried so far down in the menu.

Try www.pla-net.net/~rcomer It really is an excellent starting point for anything to do with guns or knives.
