Ever hear any of this before?

From a for sale ad:

" This collector was given the pistol by a dear friend of his some 30 years ago. That friend had been in possession of the piece for approximately 30 years before that, since World War II. He had removed the weapon, and its holster, from the belt of a German officer that he shot and killed during the defense of France. This weapon has not been fired since that German officer last pulled the trigger.

I hate for this extraordinary piece of history to be sold, but that's not my decision. I have listed this pistol as NRA "Very Good" condition, but most folks would agree that it could easily be classified as "Fine". This is a beautiful, fully-functional, all-original specimen approximately 80 years old, in collector-grade condition, with quite a history. It is, simply, better than new."

Gosh...... sounds right to me. Who would make up a story like THAT?? (Cough, cough)

Gee Whiz Roadkill, that story goes with most Lugers on the market today. I have used that same story, many times in order to sell them (cough, cough)!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Hey Tac! the story says "approximately" 30 years before... it COULD be a genuine story... just as easily as Bovine Scatology... :D
