First Cleaning
My Uncle left me his Luger that he took off a German in WWII when he was in General Paton's outfit. The pistol is in real good shape but I would like to know how to clean and take care of the gun properly. I do alot better when someone does it in front of me. I am just wondering if their is anyone from the Tuttle Oklahoma City area registered here that is real good with these guns that would not mind showing me the best way to clean and let me know if I have a shooter or a collector. I have no interest in selling but I would still like to know.
You can email me at john@johnhenderson.net and let me know how we can hook up if there is someone close. Thank you John Henderson |
Hello John,
If you do not get a reply, you might want to take this piece to the Tulsa gun show in October. Lots of luger folks there (including a few Forum members) with tables that could help you and maybe do an assessment as well. I would recommend looking up Mr. Tom Heller (known as "LugerDoc" here on the Forum). The show folks have a locator service table. Look up a fellow's name, and the table location is given...which is very helpful since the show normally has over 3800 tables... Here is the Tulsa gun show link : http://www.tulsaarmsshow.com/frames.html Also, you might try going to the "Technical Information" section of the Luger Forum. There is a Parts & Disassembly guide...that is most helpful...you might want to give her a try, yourself... Tip : When reassembling the gun, which is the reverse of step # 8 shown, hold the receiver/frame upside-down...this makes getting the S-shaped toggle link (part # 009 in the exploded-view drawing) to fall in place, easier... Regards, Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" /> |
Hey thanks Pete I have a brother that lives in Tulsa and that would give me a reason to go see him. If I do not get a responce I will do just that.
