Lady with a Luger

I won this first one on e-bay this last week, and after scanning it in, it makes for a nice addition to my wall, it is from Yellowstone, has a luger and is a nice time frame for me (1920's / 1930's).

These are supposed to be Luftwaffe, and I thought it great, maybe one of Johns Kriegs are here?

I wonder where they got the Aussie "digger" hats? TH

Ed, Neat picture! Could you imagine if someone were seen standing on a rock in the Yellowstone shooting a Luger nowdays! They'd have a SWAT team surrounding the area.
The second one looks like the founding of the DORK squad!! "The Looneytoonswaffa". I like the look of the Officer(3rd from R). "WOA! The Babes are gonna dig this!"

This photograph proves that, contrary to popular belief, Australian "Z Force" commandos did operate behind German lines.
For some reason, these operations never met with the success that "Z Force" operations against the Japanese did! <img border="0" alt="[hiha]" title="" src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[hiha]" title="" src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[hiha]" title="" src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" />

I wonder how long it took to police up her brass?

A " digger hat " with an aluminum Luftwaffe eagle ?? Whoa ! Bet they'll be plentiful in about 6 weeks......... ( smile )

And the girl has to be shooting a 4 3/4 inch 7.65 mm American Eagle test sold by Bannerman's

Edward Tinker 05-01-2004 09:51 PM

Mike, that was what I wondered too!

Probably a 1920 "commercial" but who knows!

:)

Ed, if that IS a '20 commercial, with that 4 3/4 barrel, it's really rare. Have you looked at Stoegers red book to see if any were ordered? Stoeger had the rights as of 1921/22 after the legal fight with Tauscher......but, we'll never know. Isn't it fun to see old pictures like that and wonder about things..........

George Anderson 05-01-2004 10:25 PM

The babe is shooting a 1900 or a 1906 in my opinion. Although the knickers and "bobbed" hair cut put her in the twenties, the 4 3/4 inch Luger puts it in one of the earlier model years.

MIKE MORRIS 05-01-2004 10:33 PM

Right on Georgie..............the part about the test eagle was all in fun, but you'r guess is probably right

"is a nice time frame for me (1920's / 1930's)"

:D Cheez, ED, you must you must be an older "old f--t" than me!! <img border="0" alt="[hiha]" title="" src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" />
