Rare 1939!

I saw this while checking some adds,Its amazing what some will try to sell as original and then put in a disclaimer as ignorance.

This is the famous DWM re-intro from which Mauser got the idea for their re-intros of the seventies. Only high ranking officers were issued the DWM re-itro.

You guys should use the little instant Graemlins to indicate your humor :D because some poor new person might think you are being serious <img border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" title="" src="graemlins/cussing.gif" /> when you are really being sarcastic. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

In all fairness, the seller did not claim it to be "original" condition, just good to very good and in firing condition. This is one time I am almost willing to accept lack of knowledge on the part of the seller. After collecting for over 45 years, I sometimes forget that not everyone is totally familiar with Lugers. Heck, I even encounter individuals calling a 1911 .45 a "luger".
On the other hand, it would seem that if you have something to sell, you do have a responsibility to do a little research. When asking a lot of money (and to me $995 is a lot), representation should be as accurate as possible.

It looks like a $400-$500 shooter being hawked for a lot more than it is worth...

but that is just my http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/2cents.jpg

But that is a nice looking Audley holster...wonder if the seller will part this holster away from the gun...?

Ron Wood 04-10-2003 02:05 PM

The Audley holster is in an auction indicated in another thread in "All P08 Military Lugers" headed "Fraud, Deceit or Just Plain Stupidity". The same auction also came up in "General Discussions" under Herb's thread headed "Take a look", where I commented on the Audley being hard to find.

NOW I understand! :) it is a mistake... I make them all the time (or so I am told by my wife) :D

Pete Ebbink 04-11-2003 11:29 AM

My apologies, John S., for getting the threads mixed up...I guess the "1939" lead me astray...

Must be all the home-improvements I have been burning the mid-night oil on...

Thanks, Ron, for taking the time to figure out my mistake...

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />
