Strange Barrel Markings(help)

I think that I have a prototype Luger and on the bottom of the barrel is first the N with crown then the following CAI ST ALB VTT, Can any one help with these letters.

Thanks Much Ron777welch@yahoo.com

That is the mark of a US importer - Century Arms Inc. St. Alban Vermont.

Ron is it possible to tell us any other markings on the gun?

Proofs? (see on your left under tech information if you came through www.lugerforum.com) Tell us what and where proofs and markings are located.

There are forms in this section, where you can print out and then write down pertinent information.

What serial number is on the gun? To include any letters next to or under the serial number?

What year or letters are stamped on the top of the receiver?

What initials or letters are on the toggle?

Can you provide pictures, to include side, top, etc?

What makes you think it is a prototype? Unusual markings, low serial number etc?

Ron, I would apprear that your Simson PO8 has had a new E.German (C/N marked) barrel installed. Tom H.

You have a very interesting Luger. As Ed said, some pictures would help a lot. The upper case B is usually associated with prototype Lugers in the 10,000 serial number range. An upper case C is also the suffix for the second contract of the 1908 Bulgarian (1C-5000C). The CAI ST ALB VTT is definitely the Century Arms import mark.

Upper case B prototype Lugers have one or more features that differ from standard. Does your Simson have any unusual dimensions, features or configuration, other than markings, that vary from those of a standard Simson?
