Surplus Luger Imports in 2003
 

CMR reports to me that there will be another bit of Lugers being imported into the country next year. It appears that they will be sold in lots of 25 to importers here. I dont know the exact number coming or where they are coming from or model names or prices. All I know is CMR is involved in this deal and they tell me they are coming next year. More on this as I find out more. They will be in Good Condition to Very Good condition. Looking at my emails from Charles, it appears they are looking for importers/buyers of these lots. They are coming from an Arsenal in the Far East as well as a large number of Inglis Browning Hi-powers with tangent sights and slotted for the wooden shoulder stocks. Oh thank goodness, that 25 number will keep me from buying that many!

Now if it was 10.... Experience from the forum shows me that if it was 10, I would be smart to buy them and keep them for 2-3 years and double my money.

Wonder what they will go for from CMR for 25????

I wonder if these are coming out of China, since they would not be able to be imported directly into the US per China's agreement to stop all arms exports to us, in order to obtain favored nation trade status. We all are framiliar with the quality of the Mauser brooms received from China before these restrictions. Tom H.

Yes, I have a bolo from China, used extensivly and not taken care of either (till I got it) bought it probably 15 years ago, a lot of them came into the country then.

A friend of mine got a "Chinese" origin Broomhandle. I would rate it "poor" with a totally shot-out smoothbore barrel.

He declined to tell me exactly how much he paid "Oh, a couple hundred..." (Hmmm?)

Compared to that thing, my $400 AIM E.G. Luger looks BRAND NEW and does have a mint brand new barrel. No comparison at all....

The Chinese Brooms ran the gammet from excellent to lousy and everything in between. I've seen all-matching Broomhandles from China that were in outstanding original condition. The vast majority though were mis-matched and in poor condition.

About 9 years ago I made a trip to Atlanta and visited the Keng Firearms importers. I was permitted to make a selection from a dozen or so Brooms. My budget being what it was, I selected an all-matching C-96 of about 1910 vintage that had an arsenal relined bore/chamber and what appears to be a very old arsenal reblue. All markings are very sharp and the reblue is professional quality. The smoothness of the action is marvelous to feel. It has a Chinese shoulder stock/holster of excellent quality. I also bought a 1st contract Chinese Inglis Hi-Power. The serial number begins with "CH" and no pre-fix number. The lettering on the slide is relatively crude and uneven when compared to later Inglis production.
