Bug Proofed?
I have spent a considerable amount of time reading over the last few weeks and have found the description " Bug Proofed " on a number of web sites. Not to be too much of a newbie, but I can't find a description of what this means anywhere. It seems this is only on older models. I've looked at photos and can't see an external difference. What is Bug Proofed? <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" />

Tim, this means that you have sprayed something like 'Raid" or other insect spray into the interior of your safe to kill things like termites, bore burrowers, etc. Na, really, BUG proofed is used on the bottom of barrles on the 1900 thru 1908 Lugers. The 'B' indicates that the barrels were proofed using a heavier load than that prescribed by the proof laws of 1892 and indicated a completely finished pistol. The 'U' represents the German word Untersuchung which means 'inspected'. The 'G' means Gezogen, or 'rifled'. Each letter will have a crown over it.
