Minty Gun Holster Wear
Think you all should know of a technique an "old time" Luger booster used...after doing an almost undetectable restoration in and out, he put the pieces in an old dried out W.W.I holster that has split seams reswen slightly oversize with wire and hung the rig over the back of the driver's seat in his car. After about 30 days of driving, the piece would acquire a very real looking bit of "holster wear" on the high spots...
Be careful out there. Tom A. <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[nono]" /> |
Tom, Sounds like a technique many people would want to know about! Thanks for sharing. I know there are many fakers out there but still many genuine pieces. We just have to learn to tell the difference! Knowledge is the key and you have been a big help to me in that respect. Thanks, Jerry Burney

Using lard on leather in small repeated applications give very real sweat stains and discolorations. Really does age belts, helmet liners, rifle slings, holsters, knife sheaths, ect.
