No Flaming, Some Results In Private Mail

I received some responses regarding the purchase of another Luger from WWII and was surprised to see that reputation is not as easy to establish on email or website or popularity (recognition).

I have always bought a used gun on site with an understanding with the owner (that I trust) and have realized that some (on site) are not reputable (and therefore worthy of retribution in terms of dealing) and others are.
I have never dealt with a web or with a web representing a popular opinion regarding what you get.
Be aware that what you see on the web or hear about on the web is not totally satisfactory concerning deals with Lugers.
My advice after my responses to my own novice inquiries and first real Luger:

Go there. See it.
Then decide what you want to do!

John, I am a bit unsure... these are snippits of e-mails sent to you? Are they a bit out of context, i.e. more to them, or were you as confused as I was? I had planned on having a few drinks later, maybe I should, then re-read them? :D

{{and I moved the topic to Discussions, instead of P08 military Lugers, as this is more of an open discussion area}}

Judging by what I see on the auction sites for Lugers and U.S. weapons, "buyer beware" is good advice to follow. Faked markings, tired and reblued guns described as "new", parts guns described as "original", etc., etc.

At least with Lugers the seller doesn't claim that it was carried by General Patton. Rommel, maybe, but not Patton.
