Sale Protocols
Dear Friends,
I have the opportunity to buy a C96 from a dealer via the Internet, but he will not permit an inspection period. He has given me quite a few photos of the pistol but I'm uneasy about the refusal to permit an inspection period. Since I've never bought on such a basis, what do more knowledgeable members think? Regards, Jack |
If that were the case, I'd pass on it. Pictures are good, but I wouldn't buy any firearm without an inspection period. I feel if the dealer's unwilling to do this, then they're trying to hide something.

I agree with tracy, if the person selling it dont want to give an inspection period, then 9 times out of 10 he knows there is something wrong.

Jack, Run like the wind! This guy can have none but the most nefarious reasons for not allowing an inspection period. It dosen't cost him anything for you to inspect it. It costs you some serious money just to look. If you send it back(which you can't) you are out shipping both ways and other expenses. I agree with Tracy and Russ, He has something to hide. Besides, who want's to do business with someone that hidebound? Good Hunting...Jerry Burney

Jack, I echo what the others have advised. Even were the dealer to now agree to an inspection period, I'd be leery of him having my money and me trying to get it back.
There are plenty of decent C-96's to be had. A little patience could save you a lot of aggro. Just my opinion, of course. |
