question

What does "Gesichert" at the safety location mean?

John D. 04-26-2001 09:54 PM

It is German for...

"Made Safe" or "safe". In other words - the Luger has the safety engaged...

Hey Matt...???

Obviously - your English is MUCH BETTER then my German - which would not take much

So - does "Das ist richtig!" mean I was right, wrong or I mis-spelled "Luger" ("LUGAR") again??!!

It means "That is correct" :D (EOM)

Re: It is German for...

I believe the opposite to Gesichert (safety on) is to say the weapon is Scharf (ready to fire), I think, my German is a bid rusty.

Perhaps "FEUER" is the opposite of "Gesichert"
