I have found the people to blame!
To: All
While in the local supermarket I decided to look through the magazines, found a copy of "WWII History" and was looking through it when I saw none other than.......THE "DIAMOND EDITION ARTILLERY LUGER" ... If you want to know who is behind it go here Diamond Edition Artillery Luger & Other Junk Brandon... |
Hello Brandon,
Although not my personal cup-o-tea; apparently there is enough of a market for these fantasy lugers for this company to stay in business and to advertise. Maybe their customers are the same folks that spend $ 40K on a pick-up truck or spend $ 50K on an SUV... Maybe one of these lugers is just another display of such rampant "conspictuous consumption"... |
Guys and gals,
The folks who buy these are the same folks who have all of the beenie babies, Elvis decanters, and most of the other p.o.s. that are sold to a gullible market every day. There are two real tragedies in this case though: collectable historic artifacts are being destroyed and well intentioned people,in a desire to commerate their, or a relative's service during the late, great W.W.Twice, are buying these atrocities. Barnum said it; but the tragedy is matching Lugers are a finite commodity. Wonder if Thor could bring one of these back to the point where his mark would be unnecessary?
