Rear toggle hinge pin
Does anyone have information on why these two hinge pins are machined differently? The top one is a replacement pin on a 1939/42 Mauser and the bottom one was bought independently of a pistol. http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/DSCN1406.JPG

Herb, It's difficult to judge size from the above photo, but I would guess that the forward one (not under cut) has a slightly smaller flange and is for a M1900 luger. TH

Tom, thanks. I checked several of my Lugers and found both pins in varying number. The ones that do not have the groove cut into them are all unnumbered, replacements I presume. What puzzles me is why would replacement pins not be made the same as the original, to save time perhaps? The pins in the photo are identical in size, crosssection and length. The forward one just appears to be larger due to the camera angle, about 45 degrees to allow for lighting.
