Anti-gun pollies

In a discussion that was closed when I got to it someone asked the question "what if kerry wins?"

I know B*****-ALL about Kerry but I do know a bit about anti-gun politicians, our own prime minister, by his own admission "hates guns".

I'll quote you something I wrote on the message board a few days ago.

"Let's set the scene, this is Australia under Prime Minister John Winston Howard,
the possession of firearms for self defence is illegal;
possession of semi-auto longarms or pump action shotguns for sporting purposes is illegal;
to own a pistol for target shooting you must be a member of a club and compete in pistol competitions at least 12 times a year;
possession of a pistol with a barrel length less than 120mm or a revolver with a barrel length of 100mm - that's illegal too."

The anti-gunners in our society, particularly those who strive to gain any position whereby they can impose their will on the rest of society MUST be opposed by any lawful means at your disposal.

Our anti-gun lobbyists and their "mates" in Canberra often assert "We don't want to go down the American road".

America's gun owners MUST make sure they "don't go down the Australian road".

You owe it to every American who has fought for freedom anywhere in the world, more importantly, you owe it to yourselves, and your children.

I hope Kerry and any American politicain who has ever opposed the lawful ownership and use of firearms get his a*** royally reamed at the ballot box!

Soapbox mode off!

Sorry for the colourful language folks, it's late and I finished a 12 hour shift about four hours ago. I think I'll go to bed now.

John, it's morning in America and sunset in Islam.

Hopefully it's sunset for Kerry and Edwards also.

How come Dole had to resign his Senate seat to run for President and Kerry and Edwards didn't?? That's some kind of injustice--too bad they aren't being retired to Viagra commercials or carwashing.

Edwards did not resign, as George accurately reports below. Good riddance.

We have a new senator in North Carolina this morning, Richard Burr, Republican.

Senator Dole didn't have to resign but did so as he thought it would be a disservice to his constituents and fellow senators for him to neglect his job while campaigning.

Luke, I believe pretty John Edwards is still your senator as he did not resign. But his term will expire in January.

Who will the democrats pick as their new minority leader next year? The whiner Daschel is also out.
