IMHO this website is not worthy of this forum. It is inflammatory and poorly presented. It lacks the basis for intellectual discussion of the issues in this election. Do not think for one moment that I support the anti-gun platform of the Kerry campaign, but this sort of cartoon approach to what should be serious debate is stupid and only undermines honest attempts to support gun ownership. Period.

Ron Smith 09-06-2004 08:42 AM

I heartily agree with Ron. This is a scumbag site that belongs at a Skinhead rally.

It's called satire.

Ron Smith 09-06-2004 09:36 AM

Doug, With all due respect. It can be labeled as "Satire" or "Pre-school required reading". It's still low-life garbage. Calling it whatever, does'nt make it acceptable.

All of our serious political matters are discussed in this form. The most common venue for this genre of political comment is a hyperbolic editorial cartoon in the daily newspapers of every major city of our nation and the world.

Many cartoonists have won Pulitzer Prizes because of their biting satire.

The internet has now created a new diversity of form for such satire.

No offense intended. I think it is a "hoot"!

If this is an example of the leanings of this forum. To depict a Silver Star winner, who volunteered for combat duty, against Communist insergents. As I did. As a Communist. And to immulate, and admire someone who took the cowards way out. I will no longer be posting here.

Very Sincerely, Ron Smith

wterrell 09-06-2004 11:48 AM

Ron,
I doubt that this is the leanings of this forum.

tracyp 09-06-2004 01:37 PM

Ron,

John Kerry threw his silver star back, so I guess it didn't mean much to him.

Well - here is my $0.000002.....

I won't manage and administer this Forum at two levels.

In short - this site is for discussing firearms, primarily Lugers.

As some may recall, not long ago - I had some terse words with another user who thought it proper to discuss the political "good" of Nazism and the pretense of its political underpinning.

So - not here. There are loads of Political Forums out there - I'd suggest to those that want to discuss Republican views, Democratic views or even Communism - post there. "There" is not "here"

This thread is closed.
