[OT] A very personal request for prayer from me
This is really off-topic for the forum, but I count many friends here. There are many new faces and names on this forum in the last couple of months... Many of you have taken the time to correspond with me in that time... but many of you don't know me at all.
On more than one occassion last year I requested of the Lugerforum membership that those of you who believe in God, as I do, to pray for our daughter Amy who at the age of 26 was striken with breast cancer... she has survived that so far and I directly attribute that to the Grace and Glory of God and the power of your prayers. So many of you came to our assistance last year that I could not possibly count you all but you know who you are. Amy had a partial removal of one breast last year and we thought all was well until just recently when she was diagnosed with 2nd stage ovarian cancer. Another challenge for our family and another request for prayer privately to many of you old-timers. She has been undergoing chemo for that for a couple of months now. This evening, we learned that her doctor has told her that as a result of some recent testing she must have a radical mastectomy sometime in the next three weeks... This is a tremendous burden for her mother and I and once again I am making a personal request for your prayers for our daughter Amy, her husband, her three boys... and for us. I make no secret of the fact that I am a devout Christian and I am not ashamed to say that I devoutly believe in God, His Son Jesus Christ, and the power of prayer. The Bible tells us in James 5:16 that the fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much... I know that to be true because I have repeatedly seen the power of prayer work miracles not only in my life but in the lives of those close to me ... and that includes some of you too, ...and once again, you know who you are. We know God is listening... and He is faithful. Please keep us not only in your personal prayers, but I also ask that each of you call your own church and place her name on their prayer list. Every little bit helps no matter how small you think your prayers are, God IS listening. I want to thank you all who took the time to read this...what I have asked of you will cost you nothing but your time and will mean so much more to me than sentiments... Many thanks, and may God bless each and every one of you. -John Sabato |

Dear John, Being a doctor for many years has brought problems like this right into my face often. Being a man of science forces one to try to look objectively. Prayer and faith help one to get through these tough times. In spite of this I too believe prayer helps and mine are with you and your courageous family.

John,
I was finally able to read the Forum and I saw your posting about your daughter. I am so sorry to hear about this latest "bout" with cancer. You can rest assured that she will be in my prayers for a speedy recovery. Being a Christian myself, I ask God for my wants, but I also allow Him to have the final say in what happens. Again, my thoughts and prayers will be with her for a full receover, and I also will keep your entire family in my prayers during the difficult time. Marvin |
John,
My wife does not know a breechblock from a toggle link, but both our prayers will be with your daughter and with you. |
John,
Deanna and I will make sure to include all of your family in our prayers. Remember that God has a plan for us all. Just be patient and wait upon Him. It is His time, not ours. Take care and blessings to you and your family. Sincerely, Sidney F. Gariss |
