Luger Parts Madness

I doubt I am the first ask but does anyone have an explanation for the unusually high price of Luger parts on E-bay. I bid on a few things and never did win. I can't complain about that, since its a free market but some of these parts are going for waaay more than if you ordered them from a company like Sarco. Not just rare parts either. What's up with that?

First - you are right.. I don't really get why everything seems to be going "through the roof" - and in a very short timeframe.... Sure, 25 years ago - I could buy "shooters" for $200 - $250 - but nowadays, those same shooters are closer to $800 - $1000, even Import marked....

Amazing.....

BUT - look at the high side... Collecting Luger's has a better return then the stock market.. The only problem is - you have to sell you Luger's to realize that "return"...

Hmmmm.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Anyone who has looked at Ebay lately has seen that luger parts are selling at a premium. I dont know why this is, but one thing I am sure of. Many people have caught on and a great many parts are commimg from Numrich and Sarco. You can purchase parts from these company's and resell them on Ebay for a considerable profit. Just go to Numrich and check the inventory, its way down as is Sarco.

Packet, I have bought some things from Sarco and they looked as if a caveman made them. I sent all back. Buyer beware....Can't comment on eBay and their prices too much. I have found some bargains though. Patience is key. Jerry Burney

Oh, I agree. I just couldnt help but notice that since this Luger parts phenomenon started on Ebay, Numrich's Luger parts inventory seems to be at an all time low. I could be wrong, maybe there's just that many people looking for parts.

What luger repair parts would you try to keep on hand Gentlemen? One that gave me some trouble to find recently was a laminated mainspring for a 1900 commercial, I wish I had purchased two now. What would you recommend in inventory to keep your collection shooting? What are the weakest parts on a luger?
