Hairy's 1900 American Eagle Luger

A few before and after pictures, he should get it today. I have two more of these in my safe. One for Hugh Clark and one for Greg Kilburn. Sweet LUGERS!!! Hugh did a very good job on the grips, notice that big gouge just disappeared! Thanks Hairy for a fun project!

Thor: CHRISTMAS arrived! I must have been a really good boy because even my wife thinks it is beautiful (while she is not a gun lover, she does appreciate well-machined tools that are exquisite--and this one certainly is).

Simply stated, your skills are outstanding. Those photos of the before/after show what you had to work with and what you delivered! Beautiful, simply beautiful. Thank you Thor. Harry Dennis

Thor... I just couldn't resist enhancing your "after" photo to show the real magic of your touch! You are a master pal!

Hey Thor, that's a sweet Luger!! I imagine Hairy is more that well pleased!! :) Hugh is amazing, isn't he?? He did about the same disappearing act for the grips on one of my 1906 AEs!! :)

An interesting note: This evening while applying some Renaissance wax to the 1900 AE and to my 1978 AE (wanted to have the Luger beginning and the end, sort of), I noted that Thor's job was far, far better than that NIB 1978!!!

Couldn't believe it--the finish is better, the metal polish is better, even the grips are better! Sort of a sad commentary on today's manufacturing process, isn't it. Again, thanks, Thor.

Right on Frank, we REALLY must give Hugh more credit! His grip work is fabulous. Those grips looked factory new after he was finished. I asked Ron Wood about the early 1900 Lugers and he was very gracious to give me many details on how I should proceed on restoring them! REally appreciate all the help! BTW Harry, look for the second Luger tomorrow, it has been shipped!
