Don Hamilton's Artillery Commercial Luger

I did the finish work on this Luger. I will let Don tell you about it. He wanted to show it to the group. A nice ensemble. The case has a brief case type handle.

Thanks guys, funny story about this Artillery. Don came to pick up the finished Luger and brought his dad with him who is a gun collector also. He liked it so much he offered Don a P.38 and another Luger and Don mumbled something I think was a respectful and polite "no thanks".
It was an interesting project to work on. I think Don might take it to our next gun show.

Thanks guys for all the compliments. This pistole has been a project of mine for quite some time now. I bought a new barrel from Sarco and most of the other parts off Ebay, Auction Arms, Gun Broker, and a local gun shop. I then had some engraving done and TLSS did the finish and strawing for me. I had three magazines marked made in Denmark, had them nickel plated and numbered them myself. I made this Luger for my own use and hope this doesn't offend anyone. And no Stoeger isn't stamped on the right side. I haven't fired it yet but I'm going to this weekend. Thanks Don

An amazing project Don, thanks for sharing the story and the photos, it would be hard to guess (after Ted's work) that the gun "came from so many places".

That's a project to be proud of, let us know how she shoots!

What's the story on the nice case by the way?

Frank The case came from ebay. I will try and get the guy's name and post it here later. He has more for sale. I think he has three styles. Don

Don H. 07-08-2004 10:21 PM

Frank The seller of the case is gunscdf62. That is his ebay ID. You can send him a message through ebay to dee what he has. Don

Frank H. 07-08-2004 11:31 PM

Thanks for the scoop Don, that seller's current and past months auctions are "all" Harley parts, reminds me I should have held on to the 1947 Knucklehead rigid frame chopper I built up in high school...

I'm on Les Center's waiting list for a case, I think I'll just sit that one through, it will be worth the wait no doubt.

That's a "big smile" package you put together, let us know how she did after you blow smoke through that rig!

The case Don's gun is in is from Pacific Canvas & Leather. mailto:paccananleather@verizon.netpaccananleather@verizon.net</a> They always have an add in Shotgun news, the large case sells for $79.90.

Don H. 07-09-2004 11:33 AM

Doug I was wondering where he was getting these. I paid $200.00 for mine. At that price I will get another one. Thanks

Frank H, Les does wonderful work and customizing the top with Laser engraving which is a very nice touch. His cases are CUSTOM so they can be designed to fit your specific needs. When he did the one for my Baby Luger (not owned by me anymore) he made a recess to accomodate the holster and had the very nice German Eagle added to the top for me. He also worked with me on the liner, I wanted something kind of unique and found a nice cobalt/royal blue velvet to line the box with that was just what I had in mind! I was extremely happy with the case.
