Re: Ralph's Luger book??

Hi David; the book is pretty disappointing really; partly because of its small size (8" x 5"), few pages (about 48 pages really) and the picture quality. I think Mr. S. would have been well advised to cause a larger format book with more pages and better quality photos to be printed.

Obviously the book would cost a lot more but considering the quality of guns in the collection it would probably really be something worth owning.

I have a copy and will keep it, more as a curiosity than anything else.

Luger collectors should ask Mr. S. to cause a really good book to be produced based on his collection.

Re: Ralph's Luger book??

The book was published as a table book to give someone an overview of Lugers and not as a detailed history of individual lugers which has already been done by Datig, Still, Kenyon and Jones and other Authors. A person can get a history of Luger developement in a Light reading format that discusses some of the different variations which is the reason the book was published.
