Replacement Wood Grips

As some of you may know, I generally recommend Nill-Griffe new walnut P08 grips when replacing ones that are not restorable by Dr Hugh or if they have plastic grips they want replaced. The other options are the Coco Bolo ones Sarco sells, then have Hugh cut the old coarse checking replacing with the proper 20 lpi diamond checkers. I have just contacted Nill-Griffe to see if they will make any replacment P08 grips just like they make now but in a light beech wood. This is what they sell, dark walnut with tons of figuring. Got in a nice pair of Nill-Griffe grips yesterday, I am putting them on a 1938 S/42 I will be selling on gunbroker. I will post a picture of it when I am finished with it today! These grips are nicer color and checkering is excellent on this pair.

Thor,

I made the same inquiry to Nill several months ago, and they replied in the negative.

Hope you have better results.

Luke, I did NOT have any luck getting them to make them out of another wood. The ones I just got in are just a little lighter, they almost look like some of the COCO Bollo ones Hugh got from Sarco. Luke, here are the Nills I just received! A bit lighter than normal!
