How or where can I find a down-loadable listing of

Luger Pistol serial numbers, dates of production,

number produced, and Manufacturer. My eternal

gratefulness for anyone who can give me this. Viggo

then the only references I can site are the three Still books and the first Walter's Book. If you are just looking for Military Mausers, send me an email and I'll send you a graph.

I suppose that I should have been more specific.

I am trying to find information on one specific

LUGER, to wit; DWM 55xxx series. I am tying to

determine the dates, and number of weapons produced

in this series.

The information on this site cannot supply this data.

Your pistol sounds like if falls into either the last of the 1906 Commercials or the first of the 1908 Commercials. Does your DWM have the grip safety, as this was the most distinguishing feature between the 1906 and 1908 Commercial.

low issue 1906 model 55051, w/grip safety, and

all english markings, ie: loaded,

55051

GERMANY, on front of frame, no markings under

the thumb safety it appears as though this was

removed with a milling machine, possibly at the

factory, however it is not in keeping with the finish on the rest of the frame. can you tell me more?

What is on top of the chamber just behind the barrel? The 1906 American Eagle, made for import in the US has a polished unblued area under the safety (when it is pushed upward). What is the length of the barrel?

As BILL requested, if you will indicate the the chamber marking, and the barrel length (4" is 9mm and 4 3/4" is 7.65mm) I think we can pin down what you have.

The bright safety marking was milled out after the frame had been blued.

You got it, I dont know how I forgot to mention that.

Just dumb I guess. This piece has been reblued (salt)

It was in pretty bad outer appearance. rusty finger-

prints had spotted the exterior, so I salt blued it.

the barrel is four inches from the breech shoulder to

the end of the barrel.Cal. 7.65 / 30 Luger.

The barrel length is measured from the face of the chamber to the end of the barrel, and if the barrel is original to the pistol it will be 4 3/4" long.

Does your pistol have the American Eagle on top of the chamber.

Your pistol was originally rust blued with strawed small parts.

There are no production figures available on the number of Model 1906 pistols produced. The Model 1900 overlapped into Model 1906 production, and the Model 1906 overlapped into Model 1908 production.

Ithink that I can safely say that my Luger is a 1906 model Eagle with a 4.75 length barrel in 7.65 mm.

I will waste no more of yuor page, thanks again
