A dillo sould be proud to be dispatched with such an elegant device!!

Hi Hugh,
The previously posted dillo gun had a 6 inch barrel and adjustable sights. This one must be for shooting from a galloping horse once the herd stampedes eh? Craig in Michigan |
Very cool Hugh, now if I could get one of those 6 inch bull barrels.... then my Put together Luger would be complete.
Guess I should look for a receiver, too, |
Hugh,
I would kill for a set of grips like that. They are beautiful. I have a set of very large elk antlers from spring shed. You have inspired me to go to work on them. Thank you. |
Hey Wes, I can't imagine making some Luger grips from antler? I've made 1911 grips, but they are really easy!
Best of luck to you and if you make two pair, I'd love some too, they are really nice looking! |
I have enough antler to mess up quite a few times.
|
Me too, I like to keep trying and it is easy to mess up.
I don't think I have any large pieces of elk antler, but I have deer, buffalo horns, long horn cattle, rams horn and other types of horn. I like to make walking sticks, and have only done the antler type, the horn is still a bit intimidating But I've made around 10 of them, and it just takes time and mistakes, |
Craig,
The long bbl is for "reaching out and touching something". The bull bbl is my "close quarters fast draw" piece. Them 'dillos can git purty mean ifn they ain't had ther daily ration of Lone Star! |
Hugh, don't waste those antlers, the Japanese use them, ground up, as an aphrodesiac, it goes for $2500.00 a pound if you can find an importer!! Has something to do with the rut, I think.
|
Hugh, I noted with some interest that the current high bidder at E-Bay on those carved ivory Luger grips is a certain H.Clark, that wouldn't be you would it?? If so you need to ask if they truely are CARVED from ivory, the last time I was in Germany I found that a lot of ivory items were made from ground up ivory mixed with some kind of epoxy and pressed out in a mold. It is really hard to get a piece of ivory nowadays big enough to do that due to export and import restrictions. I suspect these might fall into that category.

I think ol Hugh hunts some mutant Armadillos that have tusks!!!
|
The first time that I ate armadiller, I was 14. Was a horrendous stink to clean, and it damn sure don't taste like chicken.
|
Bubba should invent a Dillapult (Catapult for a Dilla) and take it to the shotgun trap range! Pull......splat! I bet Hugh already has the plans for one! Now that is making me loose my Warsteiner!!! laughing too hard! dillapult! hahaha
