Dutch KM lanyard loops
Hi,
Remember the thread about the Dutch / Portugese model lanyard loop? I recently acquired another one in the Netherlands. This one is identical to the one pictured in that thread, but has one very important extra detail: The phrase 'made in england' is visible on the leather strip that attaches to the hook. This strengthens me to believe the lanyard loops are Dutch Koninklijke Marine versions, that were based upon the Portugese design, but appearantly were ordered and produced in the United Kingdom... Any UK citizens that can shed light on the matter? |
G. van Vlimmeren, You wouldn't have any close up photo's you could post would you? Thanks, Jerry Burney

Hi,
Here's a close-up of the text on the leather strap. It's much better to see when you move the strap around, since it's stamped in. I added the text in an editor in about the same fontsize and the same type so it's easier to focus on the letters. The words 'MAD' and 'ENGLAND' are quite visible on the strap. 'E IN' is mostly worn away. I'll try to take some additional shots with my digital camera to see if I can get a clearer picture. http://home.concepts.nl/~vlimmere/p08/england.jpg that looks better ey? EBT |
G. van Vlimmeren , Nice! Could you show a photo of the whole thing? Thanks, Jerry Burney

Hi Jerry,
The whole loop is completely identical to the one pictured before. |
