Great job I have always been impressed with people who can make things with their hands. I personally am a klutz although I do try.

Hey Rick that is a fantastic job on the oak pistol case. You can tell when someone takes pride in what they do, it shows when you see their work, just like Ted and Hugh.

Re: wood case

Very nice job Rick. Your case is a lovely work of art. You are right, the finishing of these cases is a labor of love. I have been working on prototypes of cases up till now, but am now about to begin in earnest. I should have something to post on the forum shortly. My cases will be mahogany, 12 1/2" x 7 3/4" x 3", brass hinges and lock, and green felt English Fitted interior, based on (but not exactly) the design of the original DWM cases. It has always been my stated intention, to offer these cases to the members of this forum at a reasonable cost. As Rick so accurately points out the cost of the materials is miniscule compared to the work that goes into it. I will be doing it as a labor of love and will not be charging much over the cost of the materials, and at this point, I think that the cost of the case will be no more than $150 and then whatever shipping you choose. I am still on vacation in CA, but am returning tonight, and will be back home tomorrow, and my first priority to is to get started of these cases, so hopefully I'll have something to show you by next weekend maybe. Thank you for showing us your case Rick, I for one truly appreciate it, I'm always looking ideas, (I might even pick your brain) and you've done a very fine job.

Hey, what can I say? I'm a push-over, OK? Your description sounded so good, and I know what great work you do on this forum, these cases have to be a sweet deal! So, put me down for two!

OK, but you'll get to see the product beforehand in any case (excuse the pun).
