cool luger stuff

Whooo-wee Road Kill,
Can't you just see the Dragon Lady from Terry and the Pirates slinking across the room in her silk dressing gown toting a toggle top with them grips in one hand and a long cigarette holder with a Galois in the other...Man O Man! That is the stuff my adolescent fantasies were made of! Tom A |
Get a grip. (Pun intended) Those are classy grips though. And they would look good on the right gun. But then I also have fond memories of houses of dubious reputation and ladies who smoked non filtered cigarettes in ivory holders who took shots of straight whiskey and then smiled without shyness and meant it.

Terry and the Pirates and the Dragon Lady stirs up old memories. How do you think she would have liked these?

Very impressive. Hugh won't rest till he gets those. Need to start a new category for items like that and the "unusual" lugers.

And I thought I was the only one here who would admit to having a penchent for, umm, odd grips. These make my gorgeous plain ivories look...well...plain!

Well, normally I'm not really fond of these kind of grips, but those are something else!

There's something about genuine ivory that has appeal and rises above the "Cat House" variety Mother of Pearl/nickle plated pimp gun.
I can see those grips sticking out of Smilin' Jack's shoulder holster. |
Come on Ed, admit it. You've got a thing about pretty Lugers. I never met a Mauser I could keep my hands off, just left a gunstore where they had a dozen m48s in excellent shape for $125. Beautiful guns. Really had to watch out. Walked up to the counter three times before I finally put it down and left. Not an easy thing for me to do. Glad you are back Doubs.

RK, I don't have a problem, i don't have a problem.
I can walk past this pawn shop, I am sure they don't have any Lugers or Colts, I'm sure of it. But what if they had the deal of the century? |
Ed, you'd walk in just in time to see the guy ahead of you at the counter paying for it!

New to the group, First post. I found the group from Thor's web page, just sent off some pieces of a 1917 Erfurt shooter to have strawing done. The carved ivory grips posted above are described in the eBay ad as being for a grip safety Luger. Would these fit a plain old P-08. I LIKE THEM!

Tim, I believe they would fit a non-grip safety Luger BUT there would be a gap between the left panel and the rear grip strap where the safety would normally pass through. It wouldn't look right, IMO.
RK, I've been terribly busy at work and hardly have had time to visit the board for more than a few minutes at a time. I'll try to catch up on my e-mail this weekend sometime. |
