It looks like an Imperial inspectors's mark. The 1910 Instructions for marking P-08 included a requirement for marking these (Gortz & Bryans, p. 113-114).

The way that I understand Erfurts Imperial inspector's marks, is that the letter under the crown was the first letter of the inspector's last name. Where this was the same as another inspector, the second would have a rocker under his initial. Th

Correct,

This kind of stamping was customary between 1910 and 1918.

Size of the mark should be some 3.2 mm.

GVV, I agree that the location of the military acceptance markings was standardized in 1910, but DWMs 1908&9 production also had Crown over letter inspector's acceptance on the LEFT (rather than right) receiver. TH

Thanks for your help. Mark measures approximately .129" or just about 3.2 mm.

yes, I'm sorry. The stamping remark was aimed towards the loading tools, not the guns.
