Arty Rod
Re-hello,
Here is the rod from the 1917 Arty Rig. 8 in, Brass tip, Root Beer Barrel type handle. But there is some varnish leak on one side of the handle ( see PIC ). Also there is no scratches or nicks on the handle ( looks too good to me ). Varnish has a glossy apperance. Could that be correct ?? I suspect an old Repro as there is no Proofmark on the rod. Thanks for the help, Mark <img border="0" alt="[byebye]" title="" src="graemlins/wave.gif" /> http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/rodfull.jpg http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/rodend.jpg http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/rodvarnish3.jpg |
Hello Mark,
under the Luger Artillery topic there is a topic related to the cleaning rod. I guess you can find some good informations. Ciao |
Mark, This rod looks pretty good to me . Of course it can be difficult to tell a repro and I am certainly no expert. They were not all marked on the steel rod. I have always been interested to know if there were original fat barrels or just the slim ones.
George Anderson is someone you might want to talk to about this. He is very knowledgable about Artillery's. keoki77@earthlink.net Jerry Burney |
