Standard issue Wehrmacht WII, mostly officers & NCOs wore them.

Wes:

The buckle is WWII German officer configuration. Period pictures usually show officers in the field wearing a belt with a buckle that is a bit heavier and which has square corners. This type, with the rounded corners I usually associate with a "dress" or off duty belt. Don't know if that is right or not. It is just that the pictures show officers in the field usually wearing the heavier type of buckle while the other type buckle is seen in pictures where the officers are at parade, etc., i.e, paticipating in some function other than combat/manuevers/trainging.

I know of no authority that states that NCOs wore any type of buckle other than the EM box buckle.

The buckle is definetly an Officer Buckle, and it appears to be a later war issue. The late war issue was not as "heft" as the earlier buckles and the material was an aluminum or other alloy. I do know that they will break easy if much pressure is put on them.

I also have a vet return rig that has an enlisted mans belt and buckle with it. I also have a complete Political Leaders PPK, Holster, and a beautiful Political Leaders Belt and Buckle.

A nice lookkng outfit you have Wes!!!!
