AE Test Mag

Found this on Ebay
1900 AE Test Magazine

I believe that his guarantee which never expires is fantastic! That is how a guarantee should be given.
This is an extremely rare 1900 US test Luger magazine. 8 round. The wooden base is unmarked except for a small US Ordnance bomb proof as seen in the photo. The steel body is nickel-plated and retains most of the original nickel with wear to the high spots only. Wood bottom excellent with no cracks or chips. The wood shows very little wear to the high spots. Mechanically perfect. This is one of 2000 magazines from the US 1900 test of the German Luger pistol. Each pistol had two magazines, all marked with the US bomb.............This magazine was on a table at a local gun show; I have no other history on it. The mark has not been added recently and the former owner did not realize its significance. This magazine is identical to most other pre WWI era magazines and will fit these guns, not just the 1900 test series. The wood shows very little wear to the high spots. Mechanically perfect..........
I guarantee this item to be as described, dated, and pictured or your money back. This guarantee NEVER expires. If the item is not, I will refund your purchase price when I receive this item back in the same condition.....Thank you, Chris Siler.

Gentlemen,

Remember Don Beasley's mag with the 'flaming bomb' proof on it?

It is a common early DWM commercial magazine; it would be correct in many early DWM pistols, including the test eagles.

The insignia has no relationship with the US Army's ordnance mark.

This is not something that is debatable; simple fact and well documented.

Tom, do you reckon that Chris Siler will have to refund the $200 if he is confronted with this info? A lifetime guarantee is a mighty long time! Just the guarantee that accompanies the magazine is worth $200.

$297.50 - I'm completely stunned.

Do you think the guarantee covers anything other than that the item is as described in terms of condition and markings ?

The "flaming bomb proof" has been around for a LONG time and there are many collectors that believe it means it must be a test piece, because the flaming bomb looks like a proof that Springfield used. But as said before, this is a misconception and on e-bay words sell. Look how many people call something rare.

I have a rare all Nickled 9mm 4 inch bull barrel, very few made, $3,000! (That would be a good profit huh Tom! ). But people are attracted to the word Rare, Unusual, One-of-a-Kind, etc., and people bid higher on it.
