Luger Magazine Pouch
Could anyone give me an opinion on this well used double magazine pouch. It looks original to me but I'd appreciate a second opinion.

On the flap, inside and outside, can you find a date and perhaps also a letter "S"? let me know.

John, I have seen many of these and taken apart several. From what I can see this has charicteristics of an original double mag pouch. A photo of the back and inside would be helpful. Also any marking that might be present. They are generally found on the inside top flap and might be faint. Look closely at the thread and see if it is stranded. The Germans during the time they were sewing leather goods used linen thread and it has distinct strands seperate from one another. Lines so to speak. Not like cotton or synthetic threads. Looks right to me so far. Jerry Burney

Thanks guys. I can't post any more photos as I don't have it yet but I'll probably go ahead and buy it as I have a couple of spare wooden bottom mags that I picked up at a show today, which are looking for a home.

Judging by the single photo, I would say that it is certainly genuine. The question is this...is it Navy, military or Portugese. That can be pretty well answered by looking for maker marks and examining the back to see what kind of strap or belt it was designed to accomodate.
