Dr. Regnier's LP-08 Offering...
 

Would anyone know about this factory, fully automatic LP-08 that Dr. Regnier is selling ? Anyone have a photo or two ?

I believe it has been mentioned in some the previous discussions on full automatic designs. Try some searches on Full Auto or similar keywords. If anyone knows, it might be our dear friend Albert Beliard. How about it Albert?

Pete, If I am not mistaken, haven't you corresponded with Dr. Regnier before on other matters (Swiss Lugers and accessories)?

Why not drop him an email line and request that he photograph this unique Luger and it's mechanism so that the photos can be posted for posterity here on the Lugerforum... mention of course that all photography and history would be credited to his generosity...and include a link to his website.

Perhaps he will honor us with this effort.

Have stopped trying to converse with Regnier...

After all of my previous emails (6-8 at least over the past 1-2 years), I have never received a reply.

Some of my emails were "sales inquiries" regarding items he has for sale that I had interest...

Other emails were regarding his B-L # 6 and the B-L # 5...

Never received any replies at all...do not send emails anymore...(where I come from...that is just considered a bit rude...).

Pete, I think Mauro Baudino has successfully corresponded with him. Ask Mauro about this gun.

By reason of the fact that Mr. Regnier does not speak English, that could be a reason why you do not receive a response from him. In addition, some people might not be keen to respond by letter or e-mail and prefer telephone calls.

Mauro might be able to post some images of the pistol on this forum which I had provided to him when he was writing his book. I prefer to leave that decision to Mauro because the pistol is already well explained in his book.

Some beautiful pictures of this very impressive pistol are available at page 68 and 69 of my book. Moreover, it is possible to see some details of the item that allows the automatic fire.
I have analyzed this pistol when I have visited Mr. Regnier just before that my book was published. The pistol is very well restored. Mr. Regnier has added the red nine grips. The pistolâ??s serial number is 9. It seems that French soldiers captured this pistol during WWII. For further information and details concerning this pistol, please look at page 67, 68, 69 and 70 of my book.
During my last visit to Mr. Regnier I have taken these photos, they are good enough to see the mechanism that allows the automatic fire.

No proof marks on the right side of the receiver. No serial number on the left side of the receiver. The '9' on the grips are smaller than they are on my 'Red Nine' grips. Could not tell if the front sight was adjustible. Looks like maybe a single digit serial number on the side plate and locking bolt. Pretty restoration though. It would go through a lot of remounting and reloading of an eight shot magazine being a fully auto Luger. Might be more appropriate with a Trommel magazine. Does this gun have a date on the chamber?

The chamber is 1917 dated. It seems, according to the Kornmayer, that 10 pistols were made in the 1942-43. I guess that the proof marks were canceled in that period.
