luger artillery snail drum box found (TM)
Hi,
I'm new, I'll present myself later, sorry. A friend just found this box, most interior missing, but nice stamps. He asks $1700. I'll try to upload pics, otherwise please write if interested Thor |
Well,
I've uploaded the pics, but I can't find them, I'm in a hurry today, I'll try tomorrow Cheers Thorsten (just saw that there's already a Thor, so I'll call myself thorsten )) |
Thorston,
Welcome to the forum. Please present items for sale in the appropriately labeled forum. This forum is for discussion only. Thanks, |
Oh my,
I haven't seen that there is a classified's section. I just have found it, great. I've been collecting some luger accessories for some years, and I'll be happy to share some pics with you. Actually I'm asking myself if I should buy the P Kasten and restore the interior. What do you think. It's a lot of money, and I'm not sure that I'm good at wood working It will sure be a delight for me to browse all your forums. I've been invited here by Kyrie, hello. When I posted the pics, I did not remember where they are published. Is there a way of finding them as I would like to show them. Anyway, if you are ok, I'll post the ad on the classified's All the best Thorsten |
Hum,
And while I'm on it, how rare are these boxes or chests? Is it likely that I'll find another one cheaper if I let go this one, who has got some of them, I'd love to see pics Thorsten |
Thorsten, I have a complete "P." Kasten that came from the Stuttgart Spring Gun Show. I paid considerably more for it than the price you are quoting. If you need photos and measurements to complete the restoration, let me know.
Interesting to note that the Trommelmagazinkasten is exactly the same exterior configuration as the MG 08/15 drum magazine box. The only difference is the interior. I saw one of the latter sell recently for about $600. Of course it did not have the P. marking on the front. I also picked up a Trommelmagazintasche that came from the Stuttgart show.Canvas with leather straps and buckles. Best regards, George |
Hi George,
Thanks a lot for your kind response. Of course I would be happy to see pics of your Kasten, as well as the mesurements. This one is sold unfortunately, but I still hope that I'll find another one which I would love to restore. This is the second which I came across, I think that there'll be a third one I'm glad to meet you and I look forwards seeing your pics Thor |
