An artillery on Auction Arms

If this cobbled-together bucket of parts, some of which are home-made, crosses the $1,000 threshold, I give up on looking for artillery buys:

Seems to me I've seen that one here before.

Good memory, I remember that "home-made" sideplate from before now that you mention it!

This is a relisting, the gun has been noted and discussed here before.

It is true that LP-08 prices can spiral totally beyond all reason. I'm not sure what you mean by an Artillery "buy", but I do know--have seen--have personal experience--that mismatched shootable guns, reblues, and matched but moderate condition Artilleries can be bought resonably, if not downright cheaply. It can happen, I know of three moderate price LP-08 sales just here in the Portland area since Spring.

But, you have to be dedicated about it, haunt gun shops, pawn shops, and gun shows until you come up with one. Don't expect to find a bargain on line or in a gun auction unless you know how to really work the system, or get -really- lucky.

Don't give up,and good hunting.

Norm, I asked that very question of AuctionArms and their explaination addressed a problem they'd been having with sellers cheating them of their commissions.

Sellers were contacting high bidders when bids failed to reach the reserve price and working off-line deals. They didn't pay AuctionArms for the sale as it wasn't done through their auction.

Now, until a bid reaches the reserve price, the bidder's information remains concealed. Names begin appearing when reserve price is met or exceeded.

Now that is what I call I deal. I e-mailed him. No response. He's probably scratching his head, trying to figure out what to do now.
