Two (2) 1942 HK's...

For folks who attended the Reno gun show...we got a chance to see two (2) 1942-dated HK's...at the same show.

One was serial # 11750 and the other was # 11752...

Both were in great shape, appeared to be original finish, and both a strong 98%...I think # 11752 was just a tad nicer...

The owners were not aware of the other pistol at the same show...until I told both about the other...I think they had a chance to see the other gun as well...

# 11750 was rumoured to have sold at the show...~ $ 9500...

The Owner of # 11752 was only displaying his...he got it 25+ years ago for payment on a house painting job where the home owner ran alittle short on cash when the house painting bill was due. The Owner of # 11752 was interested in seeing the value of the other 1942 HK that was sold...

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

I can certify everything Pete has said as I was there also. Just beautiful HK's! The "original" asking list price of the one that sold was, I am told, $12500.

Hey Pete and Herb....

Excellent posts!!! Quick question - were these RIGS or did either have a matched MAG???

Again - my thanks!!!

John

For the record neither of those numbers are in Gibson's serial# listing.

Hi John D.,

No holsters for either one...

# 11752 did have a matching magazine. Not sure about # 11750 since the gun was in a stand and I did not ask to see the magazine...

What struck me was the fact that two 1942-dated HK's made their way, independently, from Germany at the end of the war and found their way to Reno, NV at the same gun show only 300 yards apart...it sure was an exciting find when I figured out both guns had very close serial numbers...Owner of # 11752 was equally excited...Owner of # 11750 was just focused on selling the piece.

pete,

It is odd, but it does happen.
I have 2 P-codes that are 1 digit apart.
