What have I got here?
New toy. Interesting piece. I would appriciate some help putting together the story.
It appears to have started life as a Navy, Serial #253x on frame under barrel, left side stamped 1916, stock lug, no grip safety. Takedown lever not matching, Side plate is matching, DWM toggle has no sight and is not matching, Extractor is not numbered and is marked Loaded. Eight inch barrel is not numbered and has a dovetail fixed rear sight. Front sight is two piece and pinned, no date. American Eagle on breach, no proof marks. Machine marks on all parts except toggle and barrel. These parts have a different metal texture. More of a refinished look. Thanks for any input. |

Try using lots of light Take lots of pictures, some with flash, some without zoom up take pictures, then don't use zoom Also, do searches on this forum, see other info, a huge wealth of info is around I usually end up taking 10-15 pictures and find 2 or 3 I like... |
Once I have a digital picture, how do I post it here on this post?
Thanks |
See url I added, also, you can manually search for it by going to the message board, then help at the top threads.
