1906 American Eagle
 

Seen a 1906 30 cal. American Eagle at a small local gun shop today. Complete matching and comes with holster (Brown marked AWM 2 and N.BURGHARD PASSING) and 2 mags. 98 blue but the grips were a little worn. "No Gesichert" Asking price is $2500.
Is that price in line?

Robert I am unsure, but looking on Simpsons website, they have several for that price, minus a holster.

Personally I am always leery and very careful about guns that are better than 98%, and then have wear on the grips...

Hello Bob,
AWM is the acceptance stamp used by the Artilleriewerkstatten Munchen. The Artilleriewerkstatten was a technical branch specialized in the development and trials of â??itemsâ?� for the German Artillery (see page 31 and 32 of my book). In particular, it was in charge for the holsters acceptance before delivering them to the units. Usually the holster shows a three lines stamp AWM/ working group/ year.
For example, my Huber pigskin holster shows AWM /1/15.
I guess that the number two in the holster you mention means second working group.
In any case, the holster you mention is a military one, used during WWI so in not related to a pre-WWI commercial production (1906 .30 Luger American Eagle).
