Whats the deal with this?
Take a look at the toggle knobs. The serations are not present on the top. Looks like a refinish?
PARTS AUCTION |
Doug, his description says it might be a reproduction, it probably is.

Would you believe '29 Swiss?
|
I Don't believe it for a minute Ron, the 29 Swiss was smooth all over, no knurling at all, this one has knurling on the sides.

Right you are Herb, good eye (actually, the '29 Swiss do have very light striations on the sides of the toggle knobs, but not up over the edge like the toggle in question). The toggle in the auction is from a 1970's "Original" Mauser Luger. The Mausers were closely patterned after the '29 Swiss but did incorporate some modifications. The toggle knobs retained the smooth barrel look on the tops and around the perimeter of the knobs, but the sides of the knobs were knurled.
