A Dutch...???

Any opinions about this Dutch piece (other than price...and the Bulgarian holster...) ???

Looks pretty good, might be a winner. Of course, if you don't like it after the 3 day inspection period, you are going to have to pay a 10% re-stocking fee plus shipping both ways. Could be an expensive lesson if it isn't correct.

Just from the pictures, my reaction is that it is a good piece. The holster and belt are indeed Bulgarian.

Hi Ron,

I had to go back to my Dutch luger books to see if the "28" on the receiver's left-side was correct or not...looks like it is for this late 1928 contract for the non-grip safety variety...

I just cannot see the buy-it price...

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

Looks to be a correct item to me as well with very strong condition.

The holster is obviously Bulgarian.

Start saving your money Pete!

Cheers,
Albert

The buy-it price is certainly optimistic. Given the condition and rarity, if you wanted to sell it in a couple of years you would probably be able to recoup an investment of $4500, possibly even $5000. But, I am betting the reserve on this one is very close to the buy-it price.

Hi,

Wasn't this one discussed on Jan Still's forum a while ago? I remember the still projector on the capture papers (no pun intended)

A Dutch navy taken from a German somewhere in the Netherlands or Western-Germany.

Dutch navies were not limited to Indonesia of course, thus could be found locally.

I was right. This pistol was discussed in thread:
