Take down tool Question (pic attached)
 

This tool was in a 1938 dated holster with a 1938 matching luger that I recently snagged. My question is about the tool which is unmarked. With close inspection (this is the first one I have looked at closely) it has nice patina, milling marks and I would guess it is original...yet no WaA? Can someone enlighten me about whether I am correct about originality and what about this unmarked tool!

It is a commercial tool, possibly from a Portuguese GNR rig.

The shaft from the hole to the screw driver tip, looks a bit short, but this could just be the angle at which the photo was taken. Its most probably a DWM tool from 1900-1929. They used the same unmarked tool for both military and commerical, including contract, production. If you tool also has serrations on the part that the thumb pushes down on when used, then it is post WW2 EG production, made on the original WW2 KH machinery. Tom H.

Looking at the top of the tool where the thumb might push down, there are three thin and shallow indent lines. Are these the serrations that you're speaking of? Cheers...Bob

Those are the serrations Tom is talking about, and since they are present, he has it nailed as an East German production. So it is "original", just original to a different era than I had assumed.

Tom, very interesting information about this loading tool I have a couple of questions if I may.
What is EG production and what type of machinery is KH?
I have two loading tools one is marked with crown and it seems as a B and serrated as you said , but the other is unmarked and not serrated does it means that it is a fake? and Ron what era are you talking about please.
